The term removable prosthesis is generally used to mean that the patient can put on and remove the prosthesis made instead of missing teeth.

This type of prosthesis has to get support from the soft tissues surrounding the teeth as well as the teeth left in the mouth. As a result of the load on the prosthesis during chewing, it is somewhat embedded in the soft tissues of the mouth, that is, it moves. That’s why we can use the term “Movable Prosthesis”.
They can be performed from a single missing tooth (very rarely) to a complete missing tooth.

They can be made on a metal substructure as well as on gingival colored Polymethyl Methacrylate (Acrylic) or in the form of a metal+acrylic combination.
Instead of missing natural teeth, acrylic or porcelain ready-made teeth are used.
